All QSL send out via the bureau

Hi,

it took a long time, but it's done. Today the last 1500 QSLs for this expedition have been send out via the bureau. No need to send us ur QSL, we don't collect. It's easier to send all QSLs out as to chekc all incoming QSLs and answer them.
So now the job is done, for SWL-reports and late direct QSLs we've some cards left and will answer as fast as possible.

QSLs received- direct requests send out

Hi,

I'm happy to receive the QSLs from the printer this week. All direct request are already in the mail. Labels will be printed as soon as possible and the 1st batch of QSLs will go out via the bureau at the beginning of 2019.
Tnx to DL5CW for the QSL-design!

QSL draft finished - hope to get them soon

Hi out there,

just received the draft for our QSLs-many tnx to DL5CW! QSLs will be ordered after the WWDX-CW and I hope to send out the direct requests before xmas. All other request will follow soon.

Sorry for the delay, but QRL took more time than expected. To print approximately 3500 labels and to put them on the QSLs will be a time consuming job too, but I hope my XYL will support me.

Back at home, short info from KO17, Logsearch available

Hi again,

yesterday we came back from our 2018 tour through the Baltic area. At least we'd a stay at Cape Kolka from the 20th to the 21st of June. There we operated as YL/homecall and had around 200 QSOs, mostly on the VHF-bands. Interest, especially on 4mtrs, was even high. After we left Kolka we visited the town of Ventspils for a few hours before we went to Liepaja again. There we'd heavy rain and could not do any sightseeing. So we went to the harbour and left Latvia at the morning of the 22nd. At least we came back safe with only a few damages and trouble with the equipment.
All the ES0UG-logs are now published on clublog. OQRS is not opened yet, we'll decide this later- at 1st we've to design and print the QSLs for the approximately 3500 QSOs. If you find any bugs in the logs or you can't find your QSO, pse drop me a mail.
What can you expect next? If I can find the time and all pictures are collected, you'll find a few fotografs from the 4 QTHs and the trip here. All infornations concerning QSLing will be published here too. So stay tuned, 73 de Uwe DL3BQA

ES0UG from EU-034 finished, now ES0UG/3

Hello,

this morning we finished our operation from Hiiumaa-Isl.. By dismantling the 2m-antenna group we saw a faulty dipol at one antenna, so sri for all 2m callers we could not work, especially via EME.
Next disappointment were the missing 6m condition over all the days there including the IARU-6m-contest. DH8BQA would say "Mr. No Six" -  we made a lot lot of contacts via MSK144 + FT8 on 6+4m. FT8 is very helpfull under such poor conditions. We tried FT8 also on SW, very divided opinions here. But I don't want to take part at this discussion atm.
Hope to upload the missing logs today, should have been aroud 1000 QSOs from EU-034.
We left the rainy island at 1430 local time, took another short break in Haapsalu and then went to the end of the world- yes we really did. It's the Cape Põõsaspea a stormy, but nice place. Not the best place to erect antennas, but for one evening during the NAC-microwave contest it will work. Only water between us and Sweden plus Finland, let's see whats going on. No SW from here, only a bit 6m together with 23+3cmtrs. It's really a place for the soul to feel unrestrained nature. Thas what I'm just doing beside writing this post. Probably I'll not make any QSO today, only play with the logs and looking over the roaring waves. But ES0UG/3 is on the air now.
Tomorrow we'll start early for a long trip to Cape Kolka. There we'll stay for one night to activate KO17, as we could not do so in 2016 (from ES0). May be I'll post a few news tomorrow if time allows. If not, I'll find the time on the ferry from Friday to Saturday.

ES0UG/8 finished on the way to Hiiumaa-Isl. EU-034 as ES0UG

Hi out there,

we're just sitting on the ferry to the next island. We'll arrive on Hiiumaa this evening and antennas should be erected as soon as possible.
Nice results on Kihnu, not all logs uploaded to clublog yet but around 2000 QSOs made on SW, 6m, 4m, 2m and 70cm. Highlights were the EME-QSOs on 70cm (DL7APV) and on 2m with 4 big guns.
Not really conds on 6m, so 70 QSOs with MSK144 and FT8 plus about  3 dozens of QSOs after hard work and station improvement on 4mtrs. Some MS-QSOs on 2m also, but only a few via tropo. Good activity in the 70cm NAC with 30 QSOs.
On SW main activity was on 20+40m SSB, with some FT8+CW on other bands too. Was really shocked to see that we got more response after spotting a WFF-number than after spotting the IOTA reference only. Bad to see that some people called several times after every WFF spot... But that's another discussion, to open after the end of this expedition.
For all, now we're going to EU-034, Hiiumaa-Isl. with ESFF-045 and WLOTA 2017 for the next 4 nights. Main activity will be on 6/4/2m with some microwave and 70cm too if needed. We'll take part in the IARU-6m+4m Contest as Multi-OP under ES0UG. Let's pray for some ES-clouds
Pictures will follow and the last logs for ES0UG/8 will be uploaded soon. More to follow, 73s for now, 73s de Uwe DL3BQA

22.06  - 23.06. Ferry from Liepaja to Travemünde

I'm very sad, that we could not get a permisssion from Stena-Lines to operate from the ferry and to activate the wet squares JO85+95 and even JO74 and KO05 and KO06 on board. We used the same ship 2003 under the scandlines-flag and had a lot of fun with amateurradio. So times are changing and I have no idea how to convince the shipping company nowadays. We even asked DFDS on their route from Kiel to Klaipeda, as in 2013 we could operate ham-radio from Saßnitz to Klaipeda  - no chance  either :-(((.  So no wet squares on 6/4+2mtrs.

The booked QTHs on Kihnu and Hiiumaa were more open minded, so permission to operate was granted on both islands. We found QTHs with usefull take-offs towards the main directions, so you can expect the following activities:
SW/6m/4m/2m plus 70+3cm on request and during the NACs at the 12th and 19th of June, main emphasis on VHF-openings from KO19GA (also in the IARU-6m-Contest) and SW from Kihnu-Island.

Please do not expect full time operation. When we're qrv, you'll find us in the ON4KST-chat and/or in the cluster DB0SUE-7. In  addition to the activities as ES0UG and ES0UG/8 also CEPT operation could happen. From YL only CEPT.

We'll keep you informed here, if you've any questions drop me a mail.
